This practice is performed to ensure an easy childbirth, resolve legal disputes, subdue adversaries, prevent calamities, increase prosperity, and foster mutual respect and affection. Since this deity is the wrathful aspect of Amoghasiddhi, some theories consider it to be one and the same as Vajrayakṣa. However, the Mahāvairocana Sūtra Commentary states that when Acalanātha subdued the demon king, he entered the samādhi of this deity, while Ucchuṣma's manual explains that Samantabhadra manifested the form of this deity to subdue those who are difficult to vanquish.
