In 햇살 아래 웃음소리 리듬 속에 (As Gargalhadas ao Sol em Som Ritmado), Portuguese author Dalila Torgal takes traditional proverbs and turns them into lively, humorous poems for children. Do Thi Huong Giang's translation brings these playful verses to Korean-speaking readers.
Each poem tells a story, often with amusing characters and situations that children will recognise from everyday life. Along the way, young readers discover the importance of kindness, friendship, patience, and perseverance. The poems also encourage them to think about how they treat others and what they can learn from their own experiences.
Torgal uses humour and rhythm to make old sayings enjoyable for a younger generation. The wisdom behind each proverb is still there, but presented in a way that children can understand and relate to.
햇살 아래 웃음소리 리듬 속에 is a book that children can read on their own or share with parents and teachers. Its poems offer plenty to smile about, as well as little lessons worth remembering long after the reading is over.
