Scotsman Eric Macgregor and Lady Jillian Monroe think their love is true love, the passionate expression of a romantic chance meeting. But how can they be certain? Their senses are alive with the ardor, allure, and appeal that magnetically pull one to the other. But will their emotional bonds survive the treachery that threatens to destroy them? Eric is a tall, fine-looking, muscular man who must travel to England to choose a bride or lose his Scottish land holdings. Sweet Jillian is the mysterious maiden who captures his heart along the way. Can Eric prove to Jillian that his love is real, or must they both suffer broken hearts because of the betrayal that besieges them in Scotland? Obstacles are the truest tests of genuine love. Will the depth of Eric and Jillian's emotions overcome the cruel circumstances that confront them? Author Nancy Howard is a student of history ... and romance. By day, she lives a fulfilling life in the real world, creatively inspired by her husband and children. However, at night, when she writes, she travels freely and fearlessly to 17th-century England and Scotland, where she tackles themes of justice, love, and loyalty in books such as A Lady So Fair. Howard is finishing a second novel, also set in England. She lives and writes in the town she grew up in, Mt. Morris, Illinois.
