The book suggests that stakeholder dialogue can be§used in environmental management within the aerospace§industry. It outlines the history of§environmentalism, the rising concern regarding§environmental management and the resultant pressure§on companies to become greener. The research proposes a§weighted stakeholder framework of who the most§important stakeholders are and identifies whether§they can be influenced. The proposed stakeholder§framework was developed based on Soft Systems§Methodology, environmental survey data from the§Society of British Aerospace Companies and interviews§with aerospace companies. The framework acts as an§indicator that enables managers to identify their§stakeholders and their significance, taking a back to§basics stakeholder theory approach. This concept§suggests that talking to stakeholders could be useful§in helping companies to deal with environmental§issues.
