Water resources in several regions of the world are facing problems of quantity and quality. They are very limited due to climate change, in most parts of the world with frequent periods of drought. In addition, the increase in population and standard of living is leading to the development of industry and agriculture. This has a double impact: an increase in consumption and a deterioration in the quality of water resources due to discharges of various kinds.In order to meet the growing need for water, the search for new industrial wastewater treatment processes is essential. Since industrial wastewater is an obstacle for biological wastewater treatment, the process of wastewater treatment by adsorption on low-cost materials presents an alternative to costly conventional treatments that produce sludge that is dangerous for the environment.
