Asher sees the world a little differently.
At ten years old, he is already working through mathematics far beyond his grade level. He loves physics, drawing, building, asking questions, and discovering why things work. His teachers can easily imagine his future as a mathematician, an engineer, or an artist.
But Asher has something else in mind.
He wants to build igloos.
Living in Dallas makes that dream complicated, but Asher refuses to let a shortage of snow stop him. He studies curves, compression, snow density, insulation, and structural design. He builds models. He experiments. He fails. And every time something falls down, Asher learns something new.
Then, while studying Tanakh with his Rabbi, Asher discovers Mount Hermon, a snow-covered mountain in Israel. Suddenly, his love of snow, mathematics, art, Scripture, and the G-d of Israel begin pointing toward the same place.
An Igloo for Asher is a warm illustrated story about curiosity, perseverance, faith, family, and the courage to develop the gifts G-d gives us without assuming they must lead where everyone else expects.
Sometimes the things that make us different are not problems to solve.
