Nine-year-old Louina Anawak lives in the Arctic with her father and their team of sled dogs, including Anuk-a fierce, loyal companion she rescued as an injured puppy. Their traditional Inuit way of life is everything to Louina: hunting seals, racing across endless snow, and listening to her late mother's stories about a legendary girl who could fly to the moon with her dog.
But the government has other plans. New laws demand that all sled dogs be destroyed and families relocate to modern housing near schools.
