An engrossing, sexy novel that will sweep you away to the beach any time of the year.
For twelve summers, Mack Petersen has been running a tight ship as manager of The Beach Club, one of Nantucket's most exclusive and picturesque hotels. Only this summer is different. His boss and the owner of the hotel, Bill Elliot, shows up in the spring with a new set of demands. His girlfriend, Maribel, is pressing Mack to get married. Things take a deadly turn when one of the bellmen, Vance, seeks revenge for Mack stealing his job all those years ago. With his professional and romantic life-and his life itself-at stake, Mack knows something's got to give.
But at The Beach Club, there's no escaping the chaos. Mack's employees are just as swept up in their own affairs. Take Love O'Donnell, the new front desk person straight from the slopes of Aspen, who's desperately searching for a stranger to father her child. Then there's Jem Crandall, another bellman who's trying to break into agenting, only to find himself falling in love with Maribel. When a hurricane threatens to wash away The Beach Club and all it stands for, tensions-and temptations-climb to dangerous heights.
