Teljes leírás

The concept map is a hierarchical graphic representation of a set of key concepts linked together by links defining their relationships. Its structure facilitates the accessibility of information and its better memorization. It is an active teaching strategy for active learners. It promotes scientific knowledge building and meaningful learning.Students are encouraged to become self-directed learners who are able to continually expand the boundaries of their knowledge and seek evidence for clinical decision making. It enables them to acquire the skills of critical thinking and clinical judgment. In addition, it helps teachers clarify the meaning of key concepts in a classroom discussion, identify misconceptions, assess learners' cognitive structures, and measure their prior knowledge and progress.Generally, the process of developing a concept map involves several steps and requires real learning on the part of both teachers and learners.Concept mapping is becoming increasingly common around the world. Given the need to update the teaching methods for learning in medicine, we recommend that further specific research be conducted on concept mapping and the various methods of active teaching. Teaching methods that stimulate creativity and critical thinking in learners and make them more responsible for their knowledge should be encouraged.
