New characters come forth in this story, and some things and people are irrevocably changed, with technology advancing and the nature of existence questioned as the three kingdoms are forever altered by powers they could never before have surmised. Yet through it all, ideals as simple as courage, wisdom and love dare those great enough to rise above the basest forms of human greed, lust and hatred in a relentless power struggle for empires as well as individual souls, one as old as mankind itself.
