The world population read 8,298,979,488 in the year 2025. Presently, in 2050, the number increased to nearly double that amount: 16,136,584,644. The number of homeless people rose 500% and the world crime rate had doubled since 2025. Prison after prison was built on increasingly valuable land. For the first time in the world's history, all the Earth's leaders met in Geneva, Switzerland to agree upon a solution. They called themselves The Crime Coalition.
The Coalition decided to follow Great Britain's lead and transport all the world's worst criminals, those convicted of serious felonies (murder and rape) and place them on an uninhabited island somewhere in the South Pacific near the Equator. They would be left to fend for themselves - no prisons, no guards, no cells, no bars. They would never see another human. They were left to live or die. The criminals quickly nicknamed it CryLand.
The first 100 prisoners, handpicked from nearly every country in the world, were transported to their island on May 1, 2053. Surprisingly, the citizens (as they wished to call themselves) formed a governing party elected by CryLand's inhabitants. "Heartthrob" Harry had been deemed to be CryLand's first leader of the governing party.
Surprisingly, life on CryLand surpassed any prison in which these "lifers" could've served the remainder of their lives. Then, something rather bizarre began to be noticed. Harry and Andelo Horvat, a Croatian scientist, began to recognize what they referred to as "glitches," unexplained abominations. All is not what it seems.
