Both organizations and researchers argue about the need for more research impact in the businesses reality. Currently, researches are dedicated to describe, explore, explain and predict phenomena, and little attention is devoted to prescribing solutions and design of the artifacts needed to address problems in the different fields of research and business sectors. Herbert Simon proposes the need to develop a Science of the Artificial (Design Science) arguing that our reality is much more artificial than natural. However, the research conducted on the Design Science premises has been scattered and erratic in different fields of research: i) management; ii) systems information; iii) engineering and so on.
