Teljes leírás

Captain-Lord Vigium has long been severed from his now-extinct race. Once a man born with the arcane faculty to sail the Seas of Time, he is now but a simple seafarer locked to two locations and nothing more.

One, the humdrum seaside port of Morpheus where the aftertaste of long-dormant magics spoil the lands and where only whispers of rumor ride the stale winds around them. The other, a metaphysical astral dimension of the universe called the Somniumagri, where dreaming souls ravaged by agony can circumvent the constraints of the Gods' magical laws and truly break the control which cages all living souls.

It has been over three thousand years that Captain-Lord Vigium and his beloved dreamship, the Vision's Edge, have been locked to the limited dual locus of Morpheus and the Domain of Dreams. He can offer to the woken what is the only safe passage to the dreamworld, but his charge is prohibitively expensive and his customers quite iniquitous.

Yet still, Captain-Lord Vigium has become bored with his life and his guilt-ridden burdens.

And now, with a vile curse of portent from a mysterious witch tainting his mind, Lord Vigium finds himself embroiled in the rippling echoes of an event called Covenant in which the Gods themselves have bartered their power to save the universe from an ancient, prophesized annihilation.

A man with no face has approached the captain with only the promise of intrigue to pay his journey's outlay. He speaks of a lofty cosmic mission he has destined unto himself and, with a bevy of unsavory implications as to the truths of the universe itself, that intrigue alone wins him his desperate ferry.

As the layers of his lust for intrigue begin to peel away and show him abhorrent devotions to the universe's most exotic horrors, Vigium's own dark truth begins to haunt him: that his heart hasn't been beating for millennia, and it requires the continuous theft of time to keep he and his ship alive.

But those who have been keeping tally of his temporal larcenies are closing in fast, and they intend to collect what they are owed.
