The present work aims to carry out thought analysis politician by George Bernard Shaw with the intention of presenting the author as one of the most influential exponents of meritocratic thought of the twentieth century, and not with that of making it a biography comprehensive intellectual1. Consequently, they will be analyzed in the following pages only Shaw's most significant works for the in-depth study of this one thematic. Shaw's meritocratic thought, inspired by positivist philosophy, hinges his political project in an evolutionary idea of society, whose objective coincides with the adoption of efficiency criteria that determine a gradual and constant improvement, starting from the improvement of conditions economical. On November 2, 1950 on page 2 of the newspaper The Evening News the Order of Merit article appears, dedicated to him, already awarded of the Nobel Prize in 1925, and co-founder of the Fabian Society. News was given that the British Prime Minister, the Labor Party Clement Attlee, had established the title of "Knight of Merit" to be awarded to Shaw for his literary achievements, but also for his influence as political leader of the Labor Party.
