The book opens with a long short story and is then divided into three sections. The opening story "The Weeping" introduces readers to the complexity of characters that is a hallmark of Brescia's work, in this case, centered on a Nepalese family. In the first section on reading (Ctrl), characters are deeply affected by books and, at times, destroyed by them. In the second section on writing (Alt), characters develop an intense, sometimes flawed, relationship to writing. In the third section on other worlds (Delete), characters engage another world as they discover new truths.
