When the sun diminishes and darkness begins its reign, we become introspective, and in turn storytellers. Every culture has their own winter tales. Some are romantic and bold, some are of an awakening from the depths, and still some are of ethereal dreams and bright colored lights. What connects them all is the growth that emerges with the sunlight come springtime. The maturation of self that can only come from quiet contemplation.
In the pages of Evergreen: Tales of Winter Shadows there is wonder and wisdom...
Love is eternal, but it must change with circumstances.
Certain holiday traditions are crucial to observe.
The solstice battle comes down to a grieving daughter.
A young woman follows a single light through darkness, toward her future.
Reverence, even in the face of hunger, is rewarded.
And a neglected girl finally finds the love she longed for.
With contemplative poems that move us into the winter gloom, promise the changing seasons, recall those we've lost and wait patiently for the inevitable thaw.
Evergreen: Tales of Winter Shadows is the soft blanket and the roaring fire you need to keep warm until the sun reclaims the days.
