Globally most farmers are considered small scale. For some time, small scale farmers have been ignored. But, with the realization that they play a major role in poverty eradication and achieving food security in both developing and developed countries, governments and stakeholders have put in place measures to promote it. This book looks at some profitable small-scale farm enterprises that different stakeholders promote and how to carry them out profitably. The audience will be taken through general characteristics that qualifies a small-scale farmer and some factor that may determine the profitability of the farmers. The book also highlights some small-scale farming schemes like inclusive value chains that help the small-scale farmer to profitably take advantage of the local and global market.
