This book is written for experienced Kubernetes and platform engineers who want GitOps to be more than "deploy from Git"-they want it to be a scalable control plane for shared clusters. If you're responsible for enabling many teams on the same Kubernetes fleet, you'll learn the mental models that keep Flux-driven delivery reliable under constant change, and the governance patterns that prevent one tenant's mistake from becoming everyone's outage.

You'll build a controller-level understanding of Flux CD v2 as a reconciliation graph, then use that model to design repository topologies, onboarding flows, and artifact boundaries that hold up under real organizational pressure. The book goes deep on Sources, Kustomizations, and HelmReleases-how they behave, how they fail, and how to structure dependencies, pruning, health checks, and drift control safely at scale. The centerpiece is end-to-end policy gating: choosing what belongs in pull requests, what must be enforced by admission control, and what requires continuous compliance-using PSA, Kyverno, and OPA Gatekeeper without sacrificing tenant autonomy.

Along the way you'll implement secrets management for GitOps, supply-chain integrity gates, image automation via PR promotion, and event/notification feedback loops that make reconciliation and policy outcomes operationally actionable.
