Anyone having even a little experience of competition pétanque knows that is one of the most mentally demanding of sports. However, a lot of players do not make specific preparation and often have great difficulty in maintaining their performance level in the face of pressure. This can, however, be learned and practiced. That is what the author proposes and offers. Describing the mechanisms which govern the various mental states of the competitor, he maps the route to mental preparedness and describe the techniques established and employed in other sports at a high level. A Mondial la Marseillaise finalist with successes in a dozen national and international competitions, Pierre Fieux is a regular at big contests.Originally from the South West he currently lives in the Var.
