A man receives a command in a mountain cave and returns home trembling. A stranger sits among the companions and teaches through questions. Mary hears an announcement that will change the shape of her life.
In Gabriel: The Messenger of Divine Revelation, Omar Han follows the messenger known in Islam as Jibril through scripture, transmitted encounters, and the difficult human work of receiving guidance. The Qur'an and major hadith accounts provide the central path, alongside Daniel's visions, Luke's announcements, Jewish interpretation, and the poetic imagination of Rumi and Iqbal.
Reverence and careful reading belong together here. The book preserves the differences between traditions, distinguishes a named appearance from a later interpretation, and leaves unanswered questions open where the sources do. Gabriel's role emerges through revelation, prayer, mercy, judgment, and the limits of knowledge.
For readers drawn to Islamic spirituality and the shared questions of Abrahamic scripture, this is a sustained portrait of an entrusted messenger and the responsibilities his message awakens. Its movement is from awe toward attention: to the words we repeat, the correction we receive, and the people whose lives meet our own.
