The aim of this work is to explore the legitimacy of a path of meditation within religions centred on the path of love of God. The principal question considered is, is there an authentic path of meditation for the faithful Christian? Indeed, was there a path of meditation for the faithful Christian? And even, has there always been one? It is not, is meditation a legitimate support for the loyal pilgrim on the path to God? It is, is meditation a path to God? And even, is meditation the path to God? Islam is also considered, and for context, the work draws from meditative traditions including Yoga, Theravada Buddhism, and Zen.
