The best gift any Christian can aspire for in his or her spiritual journey is to have a deep understanding and appreciation of the message of the Gospel. It takes various forms of approach to reach this goal. One of the time-honored and proven among these approaches include developing close intimacy with the lives and teachings of some individuals who have demonstrated profound and practical relationship with Christ and his message. The authors of this volume have chosen the path of connecting with Christ through union with the spiritual paths of Ignatius of Loyola and Charles de Foucauld. Like the biblical Mary they have chosen to sit at the feet of these great mystics, listening to the stories of their discipleship of, and imbibing important words and examples of their relationship with Jesus. But they go beyond Mary and become more like another biblical woman, the Samaritan woman. Like the Samaritan Woman, the authors offer us what they have learned at the feet of their Masters: St. Ignatius of Loyola and Blessed Charles de Foucauld and motivate us to search for and have personal encounter with Jesus.
