I Will Be Your Friend is a children's book about friendship, kindness and belonging, and the love and solidarity that can exist across communities.

Created by a Muslim mother and her five-year-old daughter, Aayah, the book shows children how one small act of friendship can help someone feel seen, safe and included.

The story is inspired by Australia's #illridewithyou movement in 2014, when an act of support between two women on a train helped spark messages of solidarity with Muslims experiencing Islamophobia across Australia and beyond.

Through simple language, colourful child-created artwork and a message children can carry into their own lives, I Will Be Your Friend celebrates friendship, difference and the power of choosing kindness.
