With sensitive diplomatic negotiations forcing the Crimson Tear and Audacious to take the long route to their next destination, the Cannidor home world of Canis Prime, they're spending the time productively, surveying Wild Space. While riches aplenty lurk in the unpoliced, unmonitored and even partially unexplored depths of the galactic frontier, danger lurks in every system.
Yet, for all the dangers of Wild Space, pirates, bandits, slavers and worse, life does continue. Numerous small communities that wish to live under their own law, or simply to seek their fortune on the edges of galactic civilization endure. One of those communities, a station predominantly populated by the elusive Synths, cybernetic beings born of organic minds, are under dire threat, and for Jerry and his crew to help, they'll have to go In Harm's Way.
