Inspite of all the respectable status attached to water, today, the river water disputes are becoming seeds of unending quarrels amongst the states. These inter-state river water disputes are affecting the integrity and unity of India. It is the irony of 'Punjab' that a state which is named because of significant river waters did present in it, is facing scarcity of water and struggling to retain the remaining of its 'Blue Gold'
