In the old time literature Judo is said to be more than a martial art. This is listed as both a key to mastery of technique and true purpose of training. The relationship of Judo and Jujutsu is still confusing to many in the history of Japanese Budo. Kodokan Judo was the creation of Professor Kano who is arguably the founder of modern Budo. This he said he was able to do after he discerned the underlying principles. Judo is therefore related to both study and principle, as well as method and technique. The study of Judo is to many synonymous with Budo itself.

Kano took his ideas in a way that drew from ancient cultural tradition. He presented them in a way that did not infringe on personal religion or politics. Still there were many imprints left pointing the way to traditional study. This book is a self study book of questions and answers which seeks to present both fact and logic. These the student can study as well as internalize a sequence of contemplation. It shows the conclusion of the author which places the study of Judo as based on earlier tradition such as Edo scholar tradition. This is to help students be able to begin training with a better orientation of the concepts of the study of Judo.
