This book, which deals with kidney cancer in its entirety, has been made possible by its comprehensive approach to this pathology.- Anatomically, it covers location, dimensions and description; internal and external structure; the nephron, site of kidney cancer development in its various segments of variable malignancy; and the juxtaglomerular apparatus, relationships, vascularization, lymphatic drainage and innervations. - Physiologically, he discusses glomerular filtration, tubular reabsorption, homeostasis of the internal environment plus counter-current pressure, and the guardian of concentration, the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, knowledge of which is necessary to establish paraneoplastic symptoms such as arterial hypertension.- In terms of carcinogenesis, he addresses the factors that initiate the process of origin (chemical, biological, radiological), leading to initiation, promotion, with particular attention to promoting factors and progression, metastasis.
