Soren Kierkegaard (1813-1855), a Danish philosopher and theologian, was one of the strongest opponents of Hegelian systematism, and is considered to be the Father of Existentialism.This book, intended merely as an introduction to Kierkegaard's work, reviews the historical, social, and philosophical context in which his thought evolved. The author then guides the reader on a philosophical journey through the various stages of existence, using a thematic itinerary in which Kierkegaard's fundamental concepts are considered : dread, irony, freedom, responsibility, despair, finiteness, History, and indirect communication.
