L'anthropologie religieuse a besoin d'un nouveau souffle. Les grandes avancées réalisées depuis un siècle dans le domaine de la science des religions semblent indiquer une voie utile en vue de l'ouverture de nouvelles perspectives pressenties par M. Eliade, G. Dumézil, P. Ricœur et G. Durand. L'" Homo religiosus et son expérience du sacré " constitue une introduction à une anthropologie religieuse fondée sur l'homme et sur le sacré vécu. La première partie met en évidence les données fondatrices de pareilles expériences au cours de l'histoire humaine. De la préhistoire aux cultures du bassin de la Méditerranée ancienne, l'auteur questionne et analyse cet homme religieux et son expérience du sacré. La seconde partie se penche sur l'homo religiosus immergé dans la modernité. L'auteur aborde la situation de l'homme et son rapport au sacré au milieu des cultures et dans la société : influences des institutions, crises et mutations du sacré, rôle des fondateurs religieux et permanence du sacré au cours des millénaires. Cet ouvrage esquisse ainsi les perspectives d'une nouvelle anthropologie religieuse fondamentale. -- Religious anthropology needs a new lease of life. The vast progress made during the last century in the domain of the science of religions seems to point to a constructive way to open the new perspectives envisaged by M. Eliade, G. Dumézil, P. Ricœur and G. Durand. 'Homo religiosus' and his experience of the sacred constitutes an introduction to a religious anthropology based on man and the experience of the sacred. Part One highlights the basic facts of such experience during the history of humanity. From prehistory to the cultures of the ancient Mediterranean basin, the author examines and analyses religious man and his experience of the sacred. Part Two examines homo religiosus in the modern world. The author investigates man's situation and his relation to the sacred within cultures and in society: the influences of institutions, crises and mutations in the sacred, the role of the religious founders and the permanence of the sacred throughout the millennia. In this way, the perspectives of a new fundamental religious anthropology are outlined.
