Martin Bryant was a man-child, and he hunted down and killed men, women and little children with all the cold-hearted cruelty of the killer he emulated. Predictably, Australian Prime Minister John Howard, acted in the very same way the UK leaders had: he introduced strict gun control immediately following the tragedy. Military style hardware was removed from the hands of the ordinary citizen. These regulations, and the buy-back scheme for guns right across the country were applauded by both sides of the Houses of Parliament.
