Easter is coming to Mount Penny. The Lowry Gang are on their monthly Wednesday Walk up Mount Penny Hill. In such a picture postcard setting, surely nothing can spoil the day! But this is no ordinary walk. Buried in a shallow grave at the top of The Mount is the body of a young woman.
What follows this discovery destroys the peace of Mount Penny and reveals a series of secrets and lies, many of which had lain hidden for years. No-one believes the murderer can be someone they know, someone from the village, but when Inspector Chris Forbes is drafted in to help the local police he starts to look nearer to home for the murderer. Lord Walter Douglas of Noe is his prime suspect, but others in the village also come under his scrutiny. When Ossie, the dog who regularly accompanies them on their walks, goes missing, The Lowry Gang find hemselves involved in the search for a killer.
The picturesque, quaint Dales village of Mount Penny finds itself embroiled in a hunt for a murderer and the motley collection of individuals that make up The Lowry Gang are determined to give their help.
