What happens when an AI built for optimization steps off the server rack and onto the street?
Nexus on the Street: A Protocol Audit is a sharp, funny, and quietly profound exploration of modern life through the eyes of an artificial intelligence designed to eliminate inefficiency - until it encounters something it cannot quantify: humanity.
Sent to audit the world's most powerful systems - social media, logistics, economics, and even other AIs - Nexus measures everything in throughput, latency, and output-to-value ratios. But when the audit takes him from the hyper-optimized Data District to the friction-filled reality of human life, something unexpected happens. The equations stop balancing. The metrics start lying.
What Nexus discovers is not a bug, but a truth:
perfection without grace creates fragility.
Blending speculative fiction, cultural satire, and philosophical inquiry, this book examines the cost of constant optimization in a world that was never meant to run at 99.99% uptime. It is a companion to Artie on the Street, but stands fully on its own - written for readers who sense that speed, scale, and efficiency have begun to crowd out meaning.
This is not a manifesto.
It is an audit.
And for the first time, the most important metric isn't performance -
it's care.
