He suggests that in spite of individual and collective actions making life easier, people remain as they always have been. Their emotional and intellectual characteristics remain the same. How then can broad societal changes happen? Increased self-awareness is the answer. Self-awareness is one's ability to understand how emotion and intellect affect certain thoughts and specific actions. When adults explore how their emotions impact decisions, many will gain a sense of calmness, acceptance, and hope as they become closer to harmony in spirit mind and body. Ideally, a collective increase in self-awareness might generate the level of energy needed for change to occur.
