There comes a point in every believer's life when the truth must become settled-not partially understood, not merely felt in a moment, but firmly established in the heart. This book has not been written to introduce something new, but to bring into clearer view what has already been accomplished through the finished work of Jesus Christ.
We have seen that God's standard is perfection, that human effort cannot reach it, that Christ has fulfilled it, and that through His one offering the believer has been perfected forever in standing before God. We have seen the difference between standing and state, conviction and condemnation, identity and behavior, and striving for acceptance versus living from acceptance already secured in Christ.
The turning point comes when truth that is understood becomes truth that is believed, and truth that is believed becomes truth that is lived. To live from this truth means that when you fail, you do not question your standing. When you struggle, you do not surrender your identity. When you grow, you do not take credit for what Christ has already finished. You learn to repent without condemnation, mature without striving, and walk with God from the place of grace He has already provided.
This does not make the Christian life passive. It makes it properly rooted. Growth still matters. Holiness still matters. Obedience still matters. But none of these become the ground of acceptance. They become the fruit of a life established in Christ. The believer does not grow in order to become secure; the believer grows because security has already been given in Him.
The gospel is simple and glorious: Christ did what you could not do. He became what you were so that, in Him, you could receive what belongs to Him. You are not becoming what God will accept. In Christ, you are accepted. You are not striving to become perfected in standing. By His finished work, you have been perfected forever. Now walk in grace, rest in truth, and live from the standing Christ has secured.
