Phoniatrics is the medical specialty devoted to communication disorders. This book draws on the specialized insights and extensive clinical experience of phoniatric experts from across Europe to offer a basis for the harmonization of European training programs and the development of concerted training standards, with the goal of guaranteeing a high quality of phoniatric care for all European patients. The interdisciplinary character of phoniatrics is mirrored in the contributions from a range of other medical and non-medical disciplines. The contents comprise communication disorders from the newborn child through to the elderly.
