This book is intended to provide assistance to analysts in the analysis of samples, primarily plant material. The book is divided into two sections. The first section covers the various techniques employed in biochemical analysis, with theoretical aspects being discussed in detail. The mechanisms and information on the construction of equipment are also provided. Additionally, the need, scope, and utility of the instruments are presented. The second section focuses on specific methods of analysis, including analytical methods for sugars, amino acids, proteins, fats, enzymes, their components, nucleic acids, vitamins, antinutrients (toxicants), and minerals. Information on alkaloid and pesticide residue analytical methods is also included. In many cases, two or more methods are provided, with reagents, apparatus, and step-by-step procedures being included. Moreover, final calculations required to determine the concentration of constituents are also provided.
