Red Stuff is a collection of poetic cryings-out. They are cries for joy and of frustration, of terror and of thanksgiving. They are calls for help, and calls to action. They are maranathas, intercessions, and apocalypses. They are psalms for crises, and they are for you.
"Mike's writing is both prophetic and priestly, desolate and consoling, prescient and protective. Red Stuff will be for you, as it was for me, the kind of guide who pushes you off a cliff and into the abyss only to grab you by the wrist and keep you from falling. It may even pull you back on to the path and bring you comfort for many miles to come."
-Dr. Keith Dow, author of Formed Together: Mystery, Narrative, and Virtue In Christian Caregiving
"Michael Bonikowsky gives voice to the struggles about which few of us have the courage to speak, and the praise and awe for which few of us have the words. Written from a place of deep faith and love, of conviction and humility, his poems capture our messy and blessed humanity. This volume is a gift for our souls."
-Patricia Sears
"Mike's writing is a patient friend, drawing attention to all that wants to be seen, but struggles to be noticed."
-Kevin Makins, founding pastor, Eucharist Church, author of Why Would Anyone Go To Church?
"'The world is charged with the grandeur of God,' wrote Hopkins. This volume of poetry attests to just that. These are contemporary psalms for weary pilgrims who are longing for the kingdom that is at once here and yet to come. Michael's poems help us to see and hear, and so to know and love, the One who is for us and with us."
- The Rev. Jonathan Turtle
