Avery Delaney knows stories can save a town-or expose wounds no one is ready to share.

As the owner of Delaney's beloved bookstore, Avery is used to protecting the town's history from outsiders, committees, and anyone who mistakes community for quaint coastal charm. Hosting the centennial oral-history project should be simple enough: provide space, manage the chaos, and keep everyone's grudges from becoming official record.

Then Lucy Thorne arrives with a camera.

Lucy is a documentary filmmaker hired to capture Delaney's centennial, and she asks the one question Avery can't ignore: who gets hurt when one version of the truth becomes public history?

As interviews unfold, old arguments resurface, private grief slips into the open, and the project becomes more complicated than either woman expected. Avery is determined to keep Delaney from being flattened into someone else's story. Lucy is just as determined not to take anything that doesn't belong to her.

But the more time they spend together among bookstore shelves, harbor fog, and stories people have carried for decades, the harder it becomes to deny what is growing between them.

Because some stories belong to the archive.

Some belong to the town.

And some are only meant to be held close.
