Meet Fonz, a young guy from Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, New York, who decided he is not going to become a victim of the streets or a criminal statistic as so many other Black men before him. He wants more for his life and family. He has dreams of being an entrepreneur, making money, and finding success in the illustrious Silicon Valley.
This memoir walks you through his journey of wins and losses. How he was able to do what some say is unthinkable-receiving angel funding not once but twice to start a tech company, and then landing the coveted position as Lead Product Designer at Netflix. Why is this special? Even though there are over 40 million Black people in the USA, 67% of top tech companies are made up of less than 5% Black employees. From New York, to Atlanta, to D.C., to Philadelphia, to San Jose. Life and death, making and losing friends, building and leaving family, falling down and standing up, and ultimately securing the bag.
The highs and lows of this journey highlight how hustling, working hard, believing in yourself, and taking risks can help you beat the odds and achieve your wildest dreams.
If you ever wanted something so bad and were willing to risk it all for it, this book is for you.
