Charlie Falls. Teenage girl, painter, dreamer. Sister, granddaughter, friend. And she remembers when she used to be a daughter-and the day she ceased to be. It was the same day she became a sister for the second time-and when her heart shattered into tiny star-like fragments. With her heart never seeming to heal, and with each passing day offering a constant reminder, Charlie buries herself in her tight-knit family, in strokes of the brush on canvas, in friendships and laughter. And something far more intoxicating that takes away the day terrors. But soon everything will change, and the limits of her family and all she knows will be tested. Charlie will need to face up to her past and give herself the opportunity to heal if she is to allow her future to glitter and sparkle. But if she allows time to be lost to the demons that consume her, her dreams will all but melt away, like snowflakes to the touch. Will Charlie allow the stars in her sky to twinkle?
