PB loves magic - the props, the tricks, and the what-just-happened wonder. So, when she is called on-stage to assist a magician with his trick, she jumps at the chance. But there's a catch - she must promise never to reveal the secrets of the vanishing cabinet. By chance, Jay plans to do a magic act in the school talent show. After the show, he asks PB to be his assistant. But then he asks for something she can't give - the secret to the vanishing cabinet trick. He claims it's the perfect show-stopping finale for his act. But a promise is a promise, so PB refuses. Now Jay is mad at her. And she is mad at him for asking. To top it off, he goes and gets another assistant for his act.

Harrumph.

All tricks aside, PB is determined to discover a way to repair her friendship with Jay and still keep her Magician's-Assistant promise.
