Glarton returns back to Azunt and learns about his parents' past. King Themton falls in love with Princess Heran, the sister of King Ialkrit of the mighty kingdom, Nosoe. The death of his father, followed by the death of his sister, seeps more poison into King Ialkrits' revenge. After marrying Princess Aphrasia, the daughter of King Ndorms, Glarton determines to fulfill his mission, one that was also his fathers' vision.
Glarton creates a treaty with King Ercle of Omiw and King Ndorms of Goptm, binding their relationship through strategy and necessity. But things go wrong when Glarton meets King Amgosh of Samb. He meets not with respect, but with insults. Pride ignites conflict and erupts into a war between Samb and the allied troops of Goptm, Omiw, and Azunt. Amid the clash of steel and the death of thousands, Glarton defeats King Amgosh and imposes a forceful treaty upon him. Unfortunately, victory offers no solace, for his father has burdened him with a secret. Will Glarton be able to bury the past or avenge it?
