What began as another hurricane warning soon became one of the greatest tests of our faith. The winds were fierce, our home was severely damaged, and many of the possessions we had accumulated over a lifetime were lost. Yet amid the destruction, we discovered something no storm could ever take away, God's abiding presence.
This book is not written to describe the power of a hurricane.
It is written to testify to the power of God.
As you read these pages, you will encounter fear and faith, loss and provision, uncertainty and hope. You will meet ordinary people whom God used in extraordinary ways, family members, neighbors, friends, pastors, and church families whose acts of kindness became living testimonies of His grace.
Most importantly, I pray that you will encounter Jesus Christ.
He is the true Shelter.
He is the Refuge who never fails.
He is the Peace that remains when every earthly security is shaken.
