Scotland, 1773. For centuries, Dominic de Santo has been the Guardian of three sacred, powerful Stones, a duty given to him by Ashka the Wise, ruler of the underworld Nexum. The Stones allow travel between the five underworlds and their value is beyond priceless. Who wouldn't kill for the chance to wield that kind of power?
But now, Dominic has made a terrible mistake.
While on a trip to the underworld of Simroo, Dominic's Stone is stolen. He later learns two other Stones have also been stolen, and one is now held by the Dark Fae, a race of beings known for their love of deception and chaos. This is considered an Unforgivable crime in the underworld. Ashka's punishment for this transgression will be severe and final.
Dominic must submit to a punishment intended to destroy him. When it is done, Dominic closes his eyes and lets the darkness take him, body and soul.
Seera the Shadow is Dark Fae. She has acquired a Stone and learned its magikal secrets. She knows it would be a fine tool to help her procure something more valuable: humans to be sold to the highest bidder. She will stop at nothing to bring this new wealth to her people.
She must be stopped.
