The Littler Angel is the story of a baby angel created by God and her first day in Heaven. Narrated by 8 year old boy Vinnie, it is meant to be shared by a grandparent or parent with a child. The story shows a higher purpose to life on Earth and a comforting vision of the hereafter. The story begins with God placing stars in the firmament when He decides to create a new angel. He blinks and a baby angel appears. The baby angel is so overwhelmed by the magnificence of God, Heaven and life itself that she starts to speak. But though her lips move quickly together, at first, no words come out of her mouth. This tickles God. He laughs and sends Littler; to get her halo and wings from Saint Peter. He asks her return so He may see her new accouterments. However, on her way back to God, the baby angel is distracted from her journey by mischievous angels, Lucy Fur and Bubby. Soon, she's involved in a derby of angel games and being fussed at by Lucy. God, being omniscient, saves the day and relates to all of his baby angels their greater purpose. 'God ...reached for Earth and held it in His hands as if it were a little ball. 'This is the Earth,' God instructed.... 'My peoples are so far away from Me. It's made them forget about Heaven. Some have become selfish and others want to boss their own brothers and sisters.... You each will help my peoples get to Heaven -to be with Me.... If you are really good at being helpers... you will become Guardian Angels.... I have created all -both good and bad. So peoples may learn. Soon you'll have your very own people. You will watch over that person their whole time on Earth and help show them the road back here to Heaven.' The story ends with Littler on God's lap. God wipes a tear from Littler's eye and He creates a miracle of dancing flowers.
