What happens when an expedition enters one of the most remote places on Earth and the evidence simply stops?

The Lost Expedition Files examines twelve real disappearances involving explorers, climbers, scientists, travelers, and expedition crews between 1980 and 2016.

The cases range from Peng Jiamu's disappearance in the Lop Nur desert and Bruno Manser's final journey into the Borneo rainforest to Andrew McAuley's solo Trans-Tasman crossing and the disappearances of experienced climbers on Denali, Makalu, Mount Foraker, Annapurna, Hkakabo Razi, Thulagi, and Ogre II.

Each chapter reconstructs the journey from documented evidence, including final communications, witness accounts, search operations, recovered equipment, weather, terrain, official reports, and later investigations. Where the evidence supports more than one explanation, the book distinguishes between what is confirmed, what was reported, what is probable, and what remains speculative.

This is not a collection of fictional mysteries. It is documentary nonfiction about real expeditions, real searches, and the point at which the historical record ends.
