On the far north coast of Canada's idyllic Cape Breton Island, in the remote village of Pleasant Bay, William Snow and Paula Starr have come for the summer to immerse themselves in what Snow's doctor's referred to as "a rehabilitation vacation".
After his encounter with serial killer Eldrick Creech, Snow's collapse left him mentally and emotionally broken. Now, in the peaceful village just off Canada's iconic Cabot Trail, Snow dreams of the peace he so desperately needs.
Raised in Pleasant Bay, Billy McKenzie languishes in an insane asylum, and he's keeping a secret that's been literally "buried" for thirty years. When Snow is visited in the middle of the night by the keeper of that secret, he's forced to set aside his rehabilitation as he becomes entangled with a madman more dangerous and cunning than Creech. Obsessed with digging up the truth and bringing justice to the town, Snow puts his and Paula's lives on the line when he investigates a man who never speaks, the one they call, The Man on the Moon.
