An orange detour sign. A wrong turn. A town that won't let go.
The Parkers are halfway through a summer road trip when a ROAD CLOSED detour sends them off the highway and into a quiet little place called Graysridge-one main street, a glowing streetlight over a stone fountain, and locals who watch like they already know your name.
Then the roads loop.
No matter which direction Dan drives, they return to the same town center-same fountain, same flicker, same empty bench. GPS collapses into a blank gray grid. Cell service vanishes. And the sheriff, Calvin Rourke, offers a calm solution: stay the night... until it's "safe" to leave.
But Graysridge isn't stranded by accident. It's maintained like a machine-kept alive by a tradition older than the town itself. Beneath the fountain is a hidden "knot," a hungry mechanism of belief that feeds on travelers and turns them into roles. The diner serves coffee like sedation. The motel won't fully close its curtains. And "integration" doesn't mean death.
It means becoming part of the place.
When the sheriff finally presents the Parkers with a contract-RELEASE or INTEGRATE-one truth becomes unbearable: Graysridge doesn't just trap cars. It traps decisions. And the Missing Exit isn't a road...
It's the moment a family is forced to choose who gets to leave.
Perfect for fans of small-town horror, uncanny-liminal suspense, and stories where the scariest monster is a system that smiles.
