You don't need a cabinet full of expensive spiritual products to work your house. Sometimes the work is already sitting beside the flour.
The Rootworker's Kitchen Cabinet is a practical, straight-talking reference to the ordinary things already sitting in your kitchen and the ways those materials can be understood and worked within Hoodoo, Southern conjure, African American folk-spiritual practice, household tradition, and contemporary rootwork.
From salt, sugar, cinnamon, cloves, bay leaves, garlic, lemons, vinegar, honey, coffee, and eggs to brown paper bags, jars, brooms, string, household candles, doors, windows, and thresholds, Konjure Kween teaches you to look beyond a list of correspondences and understand why a material makes sense for the work you're asking it to do.
Inside you'll learn how to approach everyday materials for cleansing, protection, prosperity, sweetening, peace, road opening, boundaries, household work, and more while distinguishing documented tradition, folk practice, family and regional customs, contemporary rootwork, and Kween's own methods.
Because rootwork isn't about buying everything.
It's about knowing what you have, knowing what it does, knowing the condition and knowing how to put it to work.
Baby, you had a working cabinet the whole damn time.
