A fictional tale about the history of the early Christian church's movement away from its Jewish beginnings and out into the world. In part, it chronicles the travels of a family of Christian scribes compelled to leave their Judean homeland amid political and religious controversies carrying their gospel with them. These travels, sometimes forced upon them by a series of disasters, both natural and otherwise, carried them through much of the Roman Empire and beyond.

This tale is primarily written in dialogue, offering the reader well-defined characters, some fictional, others real, some villainous, others benevolent, but all of them driven toward the creation of the new Christian church. Hear about the Roman war to recapture Palestine and Jerusalem from the perspective of some of its main characters--General Vespasian, his son Titus, and even the chronicler Josephus. Periodically, there are short scholarly interludes explaining cultural or other insights that cannot be easily explained through dialogue. It is a weaving together of history, tradition, and legend in a way calculated to help rebuild a bridge between Christianity and Judaism that should never have been lost.
